I recently took a trip to the farm supply, parts and salvage yard in Albany Oregon and picked up a gearbox for an orchard mower. The guys there called it a rotary mower, to which Wad took exception. In his lexicon, a rotary mower is a barrel shaped spiraling blades mower pushed by kids when he was young, the puny human powered version of the mowers they use to groom golf courses. <shrug> Whatever works. The top of the deck of our working mower (same version) says Gyro Mower.
The gearbox I got looks a little rough, like it has been laying in a mud puddle somewhere rusting. Terry’s got it on the bench and is soaking it so we can disassemble, clean, checkout and reassemble.
